Cairn was established in 2021 by a group of professionals working in the performance arts in Scotland. Our aim is to improve working conditions for all workers in our sector, as well as raising awareness of our members’ contribution to the public life and economy of Scotland.
We are a grassroots organisation, born from recognising the particular demographical landscape of the Arts in Scotland. We are committed to providing fair, equal and inclusive representation and opportunities for all our members, no matter the geographical location or population density.

Cairn is a not-for-profit organisation run by members for members. Every penny we receive goes towards running costs and making sure we can support, campaign and negotiate to the best of our ability on behalf of creative industry professionals living and working in Scotland and beyond.
